Oh my goodness!
Ok, I may be about to drop dead, but.... the show is ready, I've spent the last few days eating little, sleeping little, but working lots. Everyones hard work has paid off and the venue is looking great. I would love everyone to come along, not only is there a large collection of great illustrations but there is also food and drink and a well earnt excuse to finally let your hair down! So come join us at Cardiff's 22-24 morgan arcade from 5 till 7.30 for the private viewing tommorrow, 4th June.
Work, work, work... oh yea and more work
I feel i've neglected this webpage lately so thought it might be time for an update. So what's occurrin'? With our show looming everyone has been working hard to make sure not only the show is a success but also desparately trying to complete their final project.
I finally finished all of the illustrations for my latest book "The Ballad Of Greenfingers" so now it's time for tweaking, typography, a bit more tweaking, then hopefully printing all in time for the show, The grand opening will be at 17.00 till 19.00 on June 4th and remains open until June 12th. Everyone has worked really hard to put it together so please come along as it's going to be an amazing display.
Starting from scratch
What with the first sign of spring peeking its head through the gaps in my curtains, I decided to give my website a well deserved spring clean.
Currently living in Cardiff I have spent the last year and a half focussing on creating a set of short stories aimed at young adults, both written and illustrated by myself. Since October I have been working on a new story entitled “"The Ballad of Green Fingers”" about a woman who begins turning in to a plant, and I envisage completing this by June.
Other recent projects have included the short story “"Coming of Age"” and a collaborative project with designer Lee Dunham, created in conjunction with Welsh film maker, Simon Davie's latest film "Sapsorrow"..
Last month I was also invited to display a selection of my work in an exhibition held at Cardiff Art’s Institute entitled “"Colony".
Something else to look forward to is Cardiff's Illustration show, due to take place in June, where I will be exhibiting in an empty shop space within one of the Cardiff arcades alongside a selection of Cardiff's top illustrators. A really exciting opportunity, for me, i'll keep you posted
So as it stands all round, the last twelve months have been fairly busy, but looking forward to getting even busier.
